The entire point of EVERYTHING happening on IG live and other streaming platforms right now was for artists to find a way to easily connect with fans, hassle free, and for fans to have a moment of joy and distraction.
3. We've been talmbout a Black owned social media platform ...

....forever. Blitter (is that what it was called?) imploded like day 1 if I remember correctly. We got a pump fake on Black Planet relaunching. Creating a platform is a great idea - it should not stop what's currently happening. And there's not an *existing* alternative for it

Roland's missing the same thing Teddy missed - this is not a money play. There'll be room for Verzuz to turn into a tour, a show, a something when this is over and everybody can get there dough. But right now the people need this, the culture needs this. Just let it breathe.

Also, you cannot assume the numbers would be the same on another platform. ESPECIALLY not out of the gate. Half of the appeal of all these IG live moments is the ease. I'm already on the app every 10 mins, I know a bunch of people I know will "be there" bc they're on the app...

Michelle Obama wouldn't have popped into D Nice's live stream party if had been anywhere but IG. Not even a youtube, I bet money. Bc it would have required extra steps. People hate extra steps.

I actually tweeted last week a proposal a young man put together for a Verzuz app. It’s dope, interactive, user friendly, and I hope it gets to Swizz & Tim. That said, it takes time to fund, build, test and launch an app that can support 100K + live stream viewers.

Also, how do we know they’re NOT working on building something? Swizz & Tim ain’t silly with their brands. But we wouldn’t know what’s in development bc that’s not how this works. And in the meantime they keep the momentum growing and keep the brand growing.

AND KEEP US ENTERTAINED. Which is the MOST IMPORTANT PART.
