So, let me tell you about tonight (and please read to the end) ...

As part of the #YomHaShoah ceremony, @israelicongress hosted at our office the incredible, amazing, world renowned #Israeli violinist #MirelReznic.

1/
During the ceremony (which you can watch in full here: https://bit.ly/351VisV ), Mirel played a number of beautiful, haunting and powerful songs - including the Hatikvah (Israel’s anthem).

BUT, here's the thing about the violin 🎻 he played ...

2/
It belonged to a Jewish man in Auschwitz, who was shot (and murdered) while still playing it. The violin fragments were collected by one of the Nazis, where it was stored in Auschwitz, until the death camp’s liberation in 1945.

3/
After the camp's liberation, another Survivor found it, rescued and collected it, and brought it to Israel on Aliyah, where it was repaired in Jerusalem.

The violin still has blood stains of the Jewish violinist from Auschwitz.

Now this is Mirel playing Hatikvah! 🎻 🇮🇱
