Sure there will be a lot of Ozil bashing doing the rounds. But it must be noted, no-one does more for charity or for people/children in need than he does throughout the year. The work he does around the world often goes unnoticed, but it’s vast. He spends millions helping others.

And I’m not defending him over the wage cuts. Obviously it would be far better for the club and for squad unity that everyone agrees. It’s not a good look, especially when you are top earner. But everyone has their reasons and he’s not the only player who hasn’t signed up.
