So Korea: 234 deaths/10661 cases = 2.2% fatality
US: 40661/759037 = 5.4% fatality.
US healthcare isn't that much worse. So. Korea had excellent testing. Many confounding variables BUT:
One rough & reasonable guess is US is 5.4/2.2=
2.5x worse caseload than reported or 1.7 mil.
The reasoning is it's far more likely South Korea is 2.5x better at testing than the US (which is far behind in testing) than the US is 2.5x better at reporting deaths than South Korea.
Unless there are wildly divergent lethality strains (a possibility) 2.5x=underreport of cases
The upshot is @realDonaldTrump is a real idiot who screwed up testing and is now under-reporting the disease by 2.5x and the USA is still the worst country in the world for the COVID-19 epidemic.
