Since he’s a main character in The Last Dance and people probably don’t know much about him, a few words about Scott Burrell who was basically a sports god to every kid my age who grew up in Connecticut.

Before being shat on repeatedly by Michael Jordan, Burrell was a historic athlete in his own right. The first person EVER to be drafted in the first round of the MLB and NBA drafts. He was a DOMINANT pitcher. But played college ball at UCONN

His arm was so good that he was a natural for the inbounds pass for, perhaps, the greatest shot in UCONN history. I mean, just look at that pass. It’s full court, right on the money. And he barely put much into it

Anyways, Burrell had a fine NBA career but clearly nothing crazy special. But for us Hamden-ites, he is a legend. And now, everyone gets to see him being Jordan’s dog.
