So we’ve reached the highlight of most days. Mail delivery. A Wreath for the Enemy by Pamela Frankau was recommended with such enthusiasm on the last @BacklistedPod that I had no choice but to track down a cheap copy. $7 but some are $$$$.
And last week, @WomenRead recommended To the North by Elizabeth Bowen in a conversation about great books from the 1930s. Turned out to be the only Bowen I do not own and have not read. It is in the house now.
And last book mail lovely of the day is this copy of The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell. I feel like if I don’t read it soon I will be dismissed from book nerd Twitter. On this platform, it’s like not having read Proust. The horror!
