Publishing has a fixation on keeping NYC the epicenter for jobs—one of the biggest barriers to entry. People say yes yes we need to increase diversity, but this work can’t be done remotely! And yet here we are, wfh, signing off emails “business as usual.” 🙂🙃🙂*pointedly blinks*

My tweet made it sound like a demographic problem, but dismal BIPOC rep/retention is a consequence of white gatekeeping & passive engagement (or no engagement) in diversifying staff.
