Yom HaShoah& #39;s importance is of a weight too heavy for my heart to stay silent and of a magnitude too great to say anything meaningful enough.
It& #39;s one of the most unspeakably horrific moments in history that still haunts the lives of Jewish people and has permanently saddened so many in my life, though I was born over half a century afterwards.
It makes me cry to think that there are so many people nobody remembers; I want the world to never forget the unjust suffering inflicted upon them. that& #39;s why Yom HaShoah is important to me and to countless other Jews, for whom this day has an especially personal significance.
We are living today, in a way that would have been unthinkable and miraculous for so many, and you have to carry the tragic shortness of their life as you continue your own.
