1. i've been prose writing since i was 14? so ten years. i've been screenwriting seriously for a little over a year

4. i got three and four confused. i love chaos so my fics can range from 4k to 200k. i really like 15-25k fics... that's my personal sweet spot but im hilariously bad at judging how long smth will be

5. favorite genre to write... is grief narrative a genre? no? i don't know if i have a favorite... for fic i go wild for romance but in original stuff i don't like writing it as much? i like coming of age narratives a lot!

6. what do you listen to while writing FRESH JAMZ my carefully curated and constantly shifting playlist of songs i like. rn it's a lot of fiona apple, marina, and unlike pluto!

7. writers that inspire me! this answer is gonna be 4 tweets long fyi. for screenwriters: craig mazin is my top writing inspiration the way he writes is so haunting and lyrics and challenged what screenwriting looked like to me! greta gerwig too i LOVE the way she writes

7.2 authors that inspire me uhhhh richard siken (luv poetry), chuck wendig, sylvia plath, DESSA dessa inspires me so much in everything and my own devices is one of like 2 books that has ever made me cry

8. what story defines me? in recent memory, you're not the boy you used to be. made me a ton of dope ass friends and helped me sort thru a lot of garbage. features all the shit i like to write about (GRIEF NARRATIVES, FRIENDSHIPS, learning how to make an unhealthy r/s healthy)

9. writing advice... read? read a lot. if some part of u is like "this isn't working" or "idk if this is interesting" it isn't working and it's not interesting and ur better off without it. even if u write 50 words in a day, that's 50 more than u had. im 2 chaotic for advice

10 i use google docs for prose almost exclusively, except when i use the notes app on my phone and write stuff when im in bed. some of most lyrical prose i ever write is in my notes app. i screenwrite using final draft and i rly like it!

12. easiest part of writing... introspection is really easy for me? i introspect a lot and im always caught up in my own head. introspective characters come easy 2 me

13. everything about writing is hard. people have called my writing emotion but im always so :l when i write that it's really hard for me to tell if the emotion comes across? metaphor is hard. adding complexity to my writing is hard. i suck at subtext

18 writing pet peeves i have clicked on every non-freaky vanven fic in the ao3 tag and i have immediately exited out of every single one that overused epithets. if i have to see "the ravenette" i WILL have an aneurysm. i hate it when ppl start stories with an exposition dump-

19. writing habits: every character i write talks like me so we all talk stupid. the words "so" "because" and "just". writing deeply traumatized protagonists. making ppl kiss At Least Once Because (see?) I Like It. lapsing into introspection for 3 paragraphs for no reason

20. compliment myself: it's v sexy of myself to be so good at writing opening lines (i can't start anything w/out knowing the opening line and how it ends). i think its also very sexy that im good at writing final lines.
