Review of @Intimina Ziggy (reusable, silicone) period cup.
TL;DR? - Comfortable & convenient, but very pink.

This is the 2nd of 2 reviews regarding products to help reduce / erase the footprint caused by disposable period products.

With all that requisite stuff said... (1/9)

I have been using a combination of pads/liners, OB Tampons & SoftDisc disposable cups for many years. I want to do better, to... (2/9)
... leave less of a footprint & finally there are products available to help with that!

I have been using SoftDisc disposable cups as my primary period product for many years, having graduated from OB Tampons (and only using them anymore for travel and/or camping trips)... (3/9)
... since my cycle is a medium-heavy flow for 3-4 days before another day or two of spotting. Due to my heavy start, it's always been an issue having a product that could readily and easily handle the best and the worst my body has to throw at it.

Enter Ziggy cup: with... (4/9)
... a design very similar to the familiar SoftDisc cups but 100% high grade silicone. The learning curve to changing products was absolute zero, which was a major pro for me & allowed for immediate comfort and confidence using this product.

For me, the Ziggy cup is... (5/9)
... extremely comfortable to wear with the experience being a "set it and forget it" between bathroom visits.
Inserting the cup & getting it placed is not difficult, just squeeze the lip to create a "0" or "8" shape, slip the ring in and tip to slide behind cervix. Once... (6/9)
... that is done, continue to insert the cup and allowing it to pop open as it slides into place; the cup should fit comfortably above & around the cervix, creating a seal.
To remove, insert a finger to hook the lip of the cup & break the seal then pull downwards gently... (7/9)
... to remove & empty the cup.

Ziggy is the first re-usable cup that can be kept in during veginal penetrative sex, which is fantastic as it can help to greatly reduce mess & fuss! (best to have just or recently emptied the cup) Being able to enjoy spur of the romance... (8/9)
... is important & having the confidence that we won't be dealing with a Dexter scene after is always nice too.

The only con I have for this product is that Intimina only produces an eye-sore magenta color and it is Just. So. Pink.

That's my only complaint. (9/9)
