Hm.
Sewing. In. Space.
The stuff that goes outside to play in vacuum has to be heat-welded.
But that’s uncomfortable to wear or work in when you’re not in vacuum.
Cotton, linen, rayon? Not hydroponically simple.
Synthetics need feedstock.
Goats might be a fiber source.
Or silk.
Synthetics *can* be recycled, but the feedstock is just so bulky that even a generation ship can’t stash enough.
A small amount of artificial or natural grav/spin will help with both sweat and water filtration.
Dry cleaning is EASY, though, so laundry is less of an issue.
Spinning will be a rat-bastard in zero grav. Also weaving.
Extruding filament directly to a twist spinner that feeds directly into a round, programmable knitting machine is probably the best option for transit, but that’s back to the feedstock problem.
Knitter needs invention.
But if everyone’s willing to wear variations of tights, tank tops & tube socks (all garments that can be knitted easily in the round) for... however long, fabric creation is not insurmountable.
And if it’s a long-term transit, clothing *will* need to be replaced.
Naked is an *option* but if there’s little kids? We will NEED diapers.
Sorry, colony, but little Dylan peed and we missed a globule. We shorted out an air regulator. We will now slowly smother over the next 6 months.
It was a good shot, colony.

Yeah, you see the problem.
Plus, there’s protective reasons for clothing — limits chafing, diverts sweat from skin, contains body hair (which also has the potential to short something out or clog something), limits friction while moving through the ship.
