"dad, please don't hate me" katsuki is startled from writing an angry work email by shun's words

"what did you do now?" he asks his son as he turns around to face him, "more trouble in school?"

katsuki can see him breathe in, eyes full of tears "no dad, i'm... i'm gay"

then silence. katsuki doesn't know what to say. wow. his son is braver than him already and he's only fifteen

"why would i hate you?" he asks at last, shun gasps and looks him straight in the eye "you are still my son, annoying and everything"

"so," shun voice is so soft,

completely out of character of his brat who takes completely from katsuki's brashness "you are not mad?"

katsuki sights, heart to hearts are not his strong suit but he tries his best "i could never be mad at you for being yourself. what's more, being gay is not a bad thing"

"you always look worried when the subject is brought out, i was worried you hated m..." shun looks away but he's smiling slightly, relieved tears running down his cheeks

"ah" katsuki feel awkward because shun missundertood, he walks to his son and hug him "i love you, always"

shun laughs and hugs back, he's getting strong

"can i ask you, how do you know?"

"daaaaaaad"

"please, brat. i'm curious"

"i always sort of knew," he shrugs "but there's a guy i like and when i saw him the first time it just... clickd"

"a future boyfriend, already?" he teases

"nah, it's not possible. he's... older. i know it's just a crush"

katsuki stares hard at his son... an older guy!

"no, dad! don't make that face! he's cute and he owns a flowershop! i just watch him from afar"

katsuki kisses the top of his head before ruffling his hair

days later he walks by the conbini to get milk for his ever growing 15 year old son and notices a little flowershop

is that the place?

he walks inside and almost falls on his arse. the only person inside is a guy with eyes and hair as green as the plants he tends to

and katsuki feels himself traveling in time

"deku?"

his first love looks startled but as soon as he recognize katsuki, the polite smile he was wearing turns real

"kacchan! it has been so long. how did you find me?"

katsuki doesn't know how to explain so he says the best next

thing "my son told me about this place"

deku smile dims a little but his voice is honest when he says "you have a son? amazing!" then he stops and gasps, clapping his hands in excitement "shun-chan, isn't it?"

"yeah"

"i thought it was my mind playing me tricks," he giggles

"he looks exactly like you when i last saw you"

they stay quiet for a few minutes, just looking at each other

"congratulations on your marriage!" deku says at last, vowing down

"erm- we divorced. we married very young and it didn't work"

"oh my god, i'm sorry"

"it's okay, it was a long time ago. not even shun remembers"

"oh" deku looks shy

"and you? a florist! i thought aunty inko was the one with the green thumb"

"don't understimate me, kacchan!" deku smile is brilliant "i'm an horticulturist! i have a degree and everything"

"you're still a nerd, too" katsuki smirks and feels suddenly brave "would you like to go out for dinner and drinks? we need to catch up"

"yes" deku answers, his soft smile more beautiful than any flower

and for the first time in twenty years katsuki feels completely at peace

(i know i said i was not writing anything for bkg's birthday but this is not bday themed. just a soft #bkdk reunion. and yes, deku is the guy shun is crushing on like father, like son. also, his name is from *from up on poppy hill* because i love that movie)

postscript: when deku and bkg start dating shun is pretty pissed. his dad stole his crush! how dare he... he later learns deku is bkg's first love but he was too afraid to come out at the time and so he lost contact even though they were best friends. he founds a box full of

deku related stuff in his dad's things: letters, photos and carefully wrapped in an old handkerchief an old gakuran button (deku's, the second one)

he's happy for his dad, he really is. that doesn't stop him from flirting with deku all the time, he's his father's son after all

and then shun meets deku's godson (momo and todo's son), takao, and falls ass over teakettle for him

(i was assaulted by this plot last night while i was trying to sleep and i really really liked. please forgive my ramblings)
