I've heard a few people suggest that Marvel, DC and Image just continue putting out comics digitally while we're all stuck at home. They argue that NOT doing that may cause readers to break their reading habit and give up on comics altogether.

This is not a good idea.
First, for digital readers--there's nearly a hundred years worth of content. If you're telling me that you've read all of that material and that you crave more or you'll never buy another comic book again--you're kidding yourself. There's no way that you've read it all.
So, this is the perfect time to catch up on that wealth of material and a great time to try books you've never tried before--to branch out and explore a bit. There is no shortage of material available right now.
And there's absolutely no reason that DC, Marvel, Image and all the rest need to incentivize readers to stop buying print comics and go digital.
Also--IF publishers continued to put out digital books during this shut down--once books are being sent to stores--they're going to print all of that backlogged material and they're NOT going to just continue to put out digital books that are months ahead of the print comics.
So we can all wait together--now--or we can have digital keep going and then have digital have a huge wait while the physical stores catch up.

Either one of those options will suck for digital readers--but having both wait simultaneously makes the most sense.
