Quick Thread on why I love SAO.

SAO is probably one of my favorite anime series ever. Let me emphasize that it's not my all time favorite, but just a series that I have a huge connection with. I enjoy the series for what it is, and I definitely love the fandom around the show-

-I think the general anime community is far too harsh on the series. I don't think SAO has "flawless" writing or anything, but it's way better than 90% of the anime community would have you believe. Reki's writing has majorly improved throughout the course of the series, getting-

-better and better each subsequent arc. Also, there are so many misconceptions about SAO that it's ridiculous, spoilers, Kirito has never been a "Gary stu", Kirito doesn't have a harem, and the show doesn't "over glorify" things like rape; The extreme amount of misconceptions-

-about the series has always been one of the reasons that I've been inclined to defend it.

TL;DR SAO is a series with many misconceptions around it, that I genuinely grew to love and enjoy, hence I defend it.

Also, I just really like the characters. I think SAO probably has my favorite main cast in any anime, so yeah.
