Okay guys I'm here with the thread as promised.
There are 2 kinds of emails
1. Manual emails/emails blast
2. Automated emails/workflows
Most people/companies send manual emails/outreach emails and hence get very little value from emails. https://twitter.com/oluremi_x/status/1251808710957154304

All of the value is in workflow emails.
Workflows are emails you set up once and they continually go out to your readers without intervention.
Best part is that you can set up a workflow based on events your reader perform. E.g: sign up, invited a friend, purchase, et al.

I am going to take you through some of my flows, but before I do that here are some tips that will increase your success rate
1. Send plain text emails over HTML emails.
2. Make the sender name a recognizable name. E.g: your brand name or a personal name

3. Send emails from a real name. Use remi@domain.com over support@domain.com
4. Dont be too clever with your subject lines. Your subject lines should tell us what is in the email
5. When someone signs up to your email list do not waste time to welcome them

6. Never send emails to people that never gave you their email. It is the quickest way to always land in spam. If someone tries to sell you an email list, run from them.
7. Give a 1 day - 5 days notice between each email depending on the action you want the user to perform.
7. Give a 1 day - 5 days notice between each email depending on the action you want the user to perform.
8. Each email you send should have 1 purpose. Do not try to get more than 1 action out of your customers. E.g: ask them to read a blog post and make a purchase at the same time unless those activities compliment each other.
Why are workflows good? Compared to email blasts that gets average open rates of 15% - 20%, at best our workflow emails go out to thousands of subscribers monthly and they get 40% - 80% open rates depending on the event trigger and subject line.
Emails to include in your Sign up workflow sequence. This is our workflow for email sign ups at Natural Girl Wigs. You can adapt this template to work for you based on what you sell: products/courses/community, et al.
1. Welcome them. If you gave a discount for sign up, deliver it in this email
2. A message from the founder. Tell them your story and encourage people to respond (this email works very well).
2. A message from the founder. Tell them your story and encourage people to respond (this email works very well).
3. You can incentivize your reader to invite a friend depending on what your newsletter is about.
4. Remind the reader to use the discount you previously shared before it expires
5. Show how to use the product ( Best when it's User Generated Content)
4. Remind the reader to use the discount you previously shared before it expires
5. Show how to use the product ( Best when it's User Generated Content)
6. Show reviews of the product
7. Create FOMO (fear of missing out) around their discount expiry date
8. Show why your product is better than what is out there.

So over the first 30 days of a user signing up, they get 6-8 emails from the brand that are relevant to them having a positive experience with the brand.
Other email flows you can set up are:
- Post purchase. It is a great time to upsell a customer before you ship out their product.
Post purchase upsells account for 5% of monthly revenue for us. That is extra money that we would have lost out on completely.

- Reviews. Not everyone will come back to leave a review but with emails you can remind them and even find the right incentive to get video reviews from your customers.
There are many other flows you can build, but the 3 above are great and you can start building them even if you do not have a website and only sell on Instagram.
Tools to get started setting up your flow.
- Email service provider (mailchimp, klaviyo, aweber, et al). Find one that fits within your budget.
- Sign up form. You can use Google forms or the sign up form from the email service provider.
