RIght, I'm going mad trying to think of a movie here I saw when I was single figures, so I'm askin here. This is what I remember.

The movie is OLD, like 40's.

It's black and white

It's a comedy farce type thing

There's a baby seal pup or sea lion pup

There's a black guy like the butler or a driver who keeps opening the same door and falling down a well on the other side of it repeatedly

she shouts something like "MR. Tops" as he falls down, like Mr Topppppppppppppssssss!!!!"

I want to say it's like a murder mystery type thing in a mansion
