I love astrology and find it very useful, but I don& #39;t think it is for all occasions, and it is not for everyone at all times. Like any practice, it requires a willingness to learn, listen, be patient, and observe. It requires emotional maturity, otherwise it can get confusing.
It requires a lot of discernment to find astrologers who are putting out work that is useful for you. If you& #39;re learning astrology on your own and set out to believe absolutely everything written about a placement in your chart, then you are giving away your power.
Astrology books and blogs aren& #39;t specific to your chart - they are giving general guidelines or suggestions. And they may not share the same perspectives, beliefs or experiences as you. Researching your chart can be problematic if you don& #39;t know how to filter the info you find.
I also see a lot of people using astrology to spiritually bypass the work they need to do. i.e. "I& #39;m a Gemini so I& #39;m very indecisive and can never choose what to with my life." The problem is not being a Gemini. The problem is the indecision. Work on what keeps you stuck.
Astrology can be a self-fulfilling prophecy gone horribly wrong. If you start believing that it defines your personality entirely, you stop growing. If you start believing it is a quick-fix to your problems, you will be disappointed as a natal chart reflects the arc of your life.
To understand your soul& #39;s purpose requires constant growth. But you can& #39;t astrology-away the work that is in front of you. If you need to fix an issue in your life, take the steps required to make it right. Don& #39;t waste time on astrology rabbit holes hoping to find the solution.
Astrology can be validating and clarifying. But I get concerned when I see people get so distracted by it that they limit their decisions to match their charts: "I have this many planets in X so I need to do Y." Each of our lives is shaped by many factors, not just astrology.
