Whenever someone says & #39;if your great-grandparents wouldn& #39;t recognise it as food, avoid it& #39; I remember that one of my great-grandfathers, a butcher, used to take the fat he& #39;d trimmed off meat before it was sold and just fry it for breakfast. Fat on toast.
I mean, I love fat on toast - in my case butter and cheese - but that& #39;s seldom what these people are thinking of.
(the other one had more normal breakfasts but he was a bigamist, so I& #39;ll take the fat)
