One thing you can see from this is that Glenn never really stopped being a libertarian and is utterly incapable of any kind of structural analysis. The idea that it's impossible to lead this Republican coalition and not be a horrible president is something he cannot grasp at all.
Anyway, Chomsky had consistently said "vote for the leftmost viable candidate in the general" because it's self-evidently correct, and Glenn has consistently said "this Republican candidate would govern to the left of Barack Obama" and he's batting .000, so your pick
Anyway, to state the obvious "really, Donald Trump isn't that much worse than a generic Republican president" is dispositive support for Chomsky's side of the argument here, and it'a amazing when people think it's a mic drop for the wrong side of the question.
