One thing you can see from this is that Glenn never really stopped being a libertarian and is utterly incapable of any kind of structural analysis. The idea that it& #39;s impossible to lead this Republican coalition and not be a horrible president is something he cannot grasp at all.
Anyway, Chomsky had consistently said "vote for the leftmost viable candidate in the general" because it& #39;s self-evidently correct, and Glenn has consistently said "this Republican candidate would govern to the left of Barack Obama" and he& #39;s batting .000, so your pick
Anyway, to state the obvious "really, Donald Trump isn& #39;t that much worse than a generic Republican president" is dispositive support for Chomsky& #39;s side of the argument here, and it& #39;a amazing when people think it& #39;s a mic drop for the wrong side of the question.
