Hey ladies.

Do you want to work? Great.
Want to stay home? Great.
Want to find some combo of the 2? Great.

Every single version of it is hard. Every single version of it has joy.
Every single version of it is something you can really only grasp when you’re in it.
Aesthetics & picture collages are fun to look at, but it’s just as important to have conversations with people in the trenches of the life you long for.

When I left the classroom & became a full time freelance writer & speaker, I sat down with 3 women who were juggling WFH life
I also sat down with a few SAH moms & some WOTH moms.

I wanted perspective, insight, the good & the bad of each style of living.

Everyone said the same thing: you do what works for you & your family. There’s no playbook. There’s you & your family, figuring it out, day by day.
No Twitter or Instagram or FB profile captures what’s really going on in a family. How balance is happening, how things are recalibrated daily, how there are beautiful moments of joy & really stressful days when tough decisions have to get made.

We see thumbnails, not tapestries
I share how I love to travel to speak & how great my husband is at holding down the fort. I also share how I love to be home to bake & clean the house from top to bottom & have dance parties in the living room.

I rarely share how anxious I can be when I’m either home or working
Social media is really not the place to engage in the debate on which lifestyle is best, because what’s best for me could be awful for you, and vice versa.

What’s desperately needed instead are women befriending & mentoring each other as they navigate the ups & downs of life.
Here’s my aesthetic: a happy kid, who points at planes and says “look, mommy, that’s how you go to work!” and who also loves to help make dinner with me in the kitchen or come visit me in my home office when I’m writing.

That’s the goal. Period.
