Thread of poems from my new chapbook, Taphonomy, which you can still preorder for an immediate pdf and eventually hopefully a print copy someday. All my proceeds go to mutual aid in Philly. https://best-buds.rocks/store/isobel-bess-taphonomy
These poems are a map of home and homelessness. They're about being crushed under capitalism and still finding ways to survive, to grow, to find community, to fight back. These are lumpen poems that recognize the revolutionary potential of the lumpenproletariat.
This one's for the cypress forests back home that got leveled by greedy landowners and for the friends who didn't make it out.
With this one I was trying to develop a formally autistic poetics through the use of stims, echolalia, etc. I originally wrote it by hand and tried to incorporate dysgraphic elements into the typed version.
