‘Cis’ is not a slur, just like how ‘Heterosexual’ is not a slur, they serve a similar function, to help with distinctions when it is relevant/helpful to the subject of discussion.

Kinda sad that this needs to be said.

No, Big Trans isn’t gonna start demanding that you wear a badge that says “CISGENDER” on your shirt, or start requiring you to announce your cis status at all times.

Cis is simply the reverse of Trans, the language stems from a Latin prefix, it’s usage is older than you or I.

And sometimes, if the discussion calls for it, such a distinction could be very useful for all parties to understand what is being said.

So, not a slur.
