This is a super interesting post, and comes back to a chat myself @AndyB_Knowles and @Oaktree_Dave have been having regularly.

If to be 'the thing', #hearables need to become a platform, what will be the core pillars of that platform? https://twitter.com/lehrjulian/status/1251919017721421827
Personally I think any wearable audio first device will need 4 key components to be considered a true platform
1 - The ability to provide frictionless 'Audio-As-A-Service'

Like how the iPhone changed how we communicate, #hearables will redefine how we consume audio, enabling a rich ecosystem to be developed based on interactive and passive audio content
2 - an intelligent multipurpose interface layer.

Completely agree with @lehrjulian. The best #hearables will have multiple forms of input. And not just physical, but physiological. This will give content a needed context layer, making it more compelling.
3 - contextual awareness

Sensors will provide the context, and the data we glean will provide us with insight. This insight can influence the content we consume. But more powerfully, it can act as the currency for a new sustainable ecosystem.
4 - The fabric

With stacks of intimate data in the ecosystem, we NEED to avoid the mistakes made by FAANG on data hoarding. Having true end user visibility and control of our data will become a right, enabling us to be fairly compensated for our role in thid new value chain.
This may be a really interesting use case for DLT.

It's been my thesis for a while that the stack of sensors, blockchain and powerful audio-1st wearables could really be the next compelling computing platform of the near future
Anyway back I go to building 👍🏾
