How To Affiliate on Twitter:

There's a lot of buzz going around the timeline with people attempting to affiliate products and make some money.

Most are doing it all wrong.

This thread will cover:

1. Where to Start
2. The 3 Vehicles
3. Tips to Optimize
*Disclaimer*

I only tweet from personal experience.

If I have left something out, it's because I personally do not have experience with it and will not pretend to have expertise in it.

Ironically this is something to keep in mind when affiliating.

Let's get started:
1. Where to Start

I want to start this section by explaining the core concept of making money.

When someone has a problem, they will pay someone else to solve it for them.

The different products that you will be attempting to affiliate are all solutions to different problems.
With all transactions, there needs to be trust.

The buyer needs to trust that the seller's solution is:

1. A viable solution to their problem
2. A simple solution to their problem

They need to understand the benefits, while feeling like the risk is relatively low.
The first step in building that trust?

Start growing your Twitter account.

Why would people believe you're not a scammer if you're a new account with 25 followers?

How would they trust you?

They won't.

Start growing your Twitter account (there are infinite benefits to this).
I won't rehash tips on how to grow your account, but if you need somewhere to start

Here's a previous thread I put out that may help: https://twitter.com/paik_michael/status/1250826838462484480?s=20
Now that you've started to establish trust between you and your followers, you need products to affiliate.

*NEVER AFFILIATE PRODUCTS YOU HAVEN'T BOUGHT AND USED*

It doesn't make sense to sell "a solution" when you don't even know what the solution is.
If you're a creator, never add an affiliate who hasn't purchased or gone through your info product.

It's not worth your reputation.

If you're an affiliate, it is important that you take the time to go through and understand the info product.

This will be vital to your success.
Once you've bought a course and felt like it was very valuable, you can reach out to the creator (DM, email, etc.)

Tell them how you found the course valuable and how it helped positively impact your life.

Ask them if you can affiliate for it.

Once you have courses to affiliate, it's time for you to start getting some sales.

The next section will cover the 3 vehicles in which I have personally found success affiliating products:

1. Tweets on the Timeline
2. DMs
3. Emails

Let's get straight into it.
1. Tweets on the Timeline

From now on, you will not send out lazy tweets with an affiliate link attached to it.

Now only will you not get sales, but you will be tarnishing your brand and cheapening it.

The goal is to create tweets that don't look extremely salesy.
The best way to do this?

Tell your story.

Show how this specific course has impacted your life.

Show them where you were before the course.

Show them what started happening once you started implementing the course.

Show them where you are now because of the course.
This is why it is ESSENTIAL that you actually go through the product before you try selling it.

How are you going to tell your story if you don't even have one?

You want to create a connection with the people to whom you are selling.

This also helps strengthen the trust.
Example (Fitness):

If you are affiliating a fitness program, you better have gone through the fitness program.

Show your followers your before and after pictures.

Walk them through your journey.

Show them what it would be like for them if they were to take that journey too!
After you tell your story,

You can add some scarcity to your tweet to help push people to make a decision.

By human nature, if you give someone too much time, they simply won't act.

Limit the supply or limit the amount of time you are selling.

This will help create urgency.
*MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN TWEETING*

1. Don't throw your affiliate link under other people's random tweets
2. Don't post an affiliate link without revealing it's an affiliate link
3. Stop tweeting affiliate links when you have 13 followers
4. Stop tweeting lazy tweets
2. DMs

You need to get the right product in front of the right person at the right time.

This is why DMs are an incredible asset.

If you have an arsenal of different products that you are affiliating that you can personally vouch for, you have an entire toolkit of solutions.
There are 2 ways to get people to reach out to you in your DMs.

1. Tweet your story about how you changed and instead of dropping an affiliate link, tell your followers to DM you if they want to know more.

2. People will just DM you randomly when you consistently provide value.
Once someone is in your DMs,

Identify their problem.

Again, you need to understand the core principle of making money.

Solve people's problems.

Once you identify their problem,

You should have a solution for it in the form of an affiliate product.
Steps:

1. Show some value and show your journey with that product.

2. Answer all their objections and questions.

3. Close the sale (make sure you disclose your link is an affiliate link)

This is highly effective and not talked about enough.

Get your DMs poppin!
3. Emails

The prerequisite to this is that you have built an email list.

If you have not and are confused, here's a great place to start: https://twitter.com/paik_michael/status/1249455863716175878?s=20
Approach emails in the exact same way that you have approached both tweets on the timeline and DMs.

If someone has given you their email, they trust you even more.

Tell the story of how that product changed your life or give value on that niche.

Plug that affiliate link!
3. Tips to Optimize

You have the meat but now let's get to some of the seasoning.

1. Utilize social proof
2. Utilize link in bio

Social proof strengthens the idea that the product is a viable solution because it has worked on others.

Your bio is a free asset.
Ask the creator for testimonials or reviews on their product.

Stick that in with your pitch when selling your affiliate product.

Not only are you showing that this has worked for you, but you're showing that it has worked for others.

This will help strengthen your offer.
Properly weaponize your bio.

In the month of April, I have had 31.4K people visit my profile.

How many of them do you think will click the link in my bio?

You need to be able to turn your entire Twitter system into an optimized weapon without coming off salesy.
