Venezuela only confirmed its first case of the coronavirus (2 cases) on March 13th. The government had already moved to suspend flights from Europe and Colombia.
Cuban specialists were in Venezuela just two days after confirmation of the initial cases, in addition to the Cuban doctors who were already working in the country. The government knew it required international support and made early appeals.
