Keli McGregor passed away on April 20, 2010.

Our community lost a charismatic leader. The Rockies lost an innovative president. The McGregors lost an incredible husband, father, brother, son, uncle and cousin. The world lost an amazing person.

Today we remember Keli McGregor...
Growing up in Colorado, Keli McGregor was a multi-sport star at Lakewood High School before enrolling at Colorado State.

After a decorated football career that included time with the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts, Keli began a career in sports administration at Arkansas.
Prior to the 1994 season, Keli McGregor joined the Rockies as senior director of operations.

Recruited to someday become Rockies president, Keli quickly worked his way up the organizational ladder as he and his wife, Lori, raised four children: Jordan, Taylor, Landri and Logan.
Keli McGregor was named Rockies president in 2001 and the club began a golden era under his leadership.

Keli was tough. He was fair. He was passionate. He was the rare type of person who would make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world.
10 years ago today, on a business trip in Salt Lake City, Keli McGregor passed away due to a rare heart condition. He was 48.

Stunned and devastated by his tragic death, Keli's family, friends and colleagues mourned as they paid tribute to a special man gone far too soon.
The Salt River Fields Project was among Keli McGregor's crowing achievements.

He did not live to see it completed, but his fingerprints are all over the marvelous facility. Salt River symbolizes far more than just a baseball complex; it represents a true cultural partnership.
The “West Lot Project” was Keli's vision.

But the name?

“We wanted it to be something with character. We wanted it to be fun. It needed to have style and class, needed a strong presence. And it needed to be one of a kind."

That was Keli. That is what McGregor Square will be.
Today, 10 years later, we miss Keli more than ever. His life and legacy will always remain strong and continue to live on as it is carried proudly by those who knew and loved him.

Keli Scott McGregor, always with us.
