1) You speak your mother tongue by default. Most of Indians can speak or at least understand Hindi. Same goes for English. You can speak or understand a regional language other than your mother tongue if you're from a border place.
2) You love your regional cuisine. If you're bored, you can enjoy cuisines from other states too. A Tamil guy can munch on chole bhature while someone from northeast can enjoy his Obbattu (Holige)

3) You can roam freely in any part of the country except for some places without any restrictions. A guy from Bengaluru can go and enjoy the mountains of Himachal Pradesh while a guy from UP can relish his seaside experience on the beaches of Kerala.
4) You can wear apparels of your choice no matter where you're staying or from where you've come. No one will trouble you.
5) The whole family assembles together when heard with chants of " Bharat mata ki jai ", " Vande mataram " &/or " Jana gana mana " just like the family assembles for the morning prayer.
6) Most of the family members love & respect the head of the family as we do with Modi ji.
7) Whenever a family member is in trouble, other members come together to solve his/her problem. Similarly, whenever a state is hit with disaster, other states come for help.
8) Yes, we fight a lot. But look at the positive side. The only family that doesn't fight is a dead family. :)
9) We glue on to our TV sets whenever team India is playing. Nothing else matter.
10) Just how a home needs a strong door and a secure lock to protect our house from miscreants, we have our proud army, police, CRPF etc.
