Some more thoughts on the Harvard anti-homeschool article:

1- Trump is going to be president forever.
2- Harvard comes across as biased and incompetent
3- When it comes to understanding homeschooling (&its legality), the article is 30-years out of date https://harvardmagazine.com/2020/05/right-now-risks-homeschooling
On point #3- Homeschooling is more diverse than ever. Hippies and crunchy moms do it. High-performance leftists do it. Religious minorities of all stripes do it.

The Gotthardites are still out there, but they don't run the show.
The legality of homsechooling in the US is settled. Courts heard all kinds of cases during the 1970s & 80s, & they reliably sided w the homeschooler's rights. California had a dustup in 2008, but it was eventually resolved in homeschooling's favor.

Harvard is LARPing.
That Harvard would both employ and showcase such inanity shows how their own quality of education has cratered. I have very little confidence in a Harvard education. When I see that someone graduated from there, I lose confidence in their work.

Who's regulating those people?
This also further highlights the class/culture divide. The Ivies are becoming more &more siloed, &they are no longer desirable schools for a huge portion of the pop. The old institutions of civil society have lost their traditional meaning, &now they are losing their function.
Homeschooling isn't perfect, but it's going to start "fitting" the lifestyles & worldviews or more and more people-- especially as private schools have to fold up under the economic strain of the lockdowns and as the public schools become more and more ideologically predatory.
The duty of Christians who love their neighbors (& their neighbor's children) is to make homeschooling and other parent-controlled local education options more accessible to a broader audience. Reduce costs. Increase participation and distribution of quality material.
