I don’t even know where to begin on this one.

1) America’s war in Vietnam was pointless and unnecessary & Johnson escalated it almost entirely for domestic political purposes;

2) The initial excuse for carte blanche to escalate was almost certainly based on a lie & Johnson knew it;

3) Top officials concluded early on the war was unwinnable & it continued only for domestic political purposes, even as thousands of Americans kept dying;

4) Johnson lied about the war constantly;

5) The conflict killed over 3 MILLION Vietnamese, a point to which no empathy is usually granted;

6) Johnson was one of the most abusive & manipulative of men to ever hold the presidency, & had more empathy than probably the solitary figure of Donald Trump.
