/50 This week represents the 50th Earth Day! Since we can’t meet in person for traditional celebrations, let’s unite to make it as memorable as possible. I challenge myself to 50 posts this week that promotes global, local, and personal celebrations of our Earth. #EarthDay2020
/50 For my fellow Fredericksburg friends, the Green and Clean commission is hosting a virtual earth day to share our favorite Earth friendly practices. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s posts there: https://www.facebook.com/events/603822326872924/

/50 A movie person? TCM has you covered with five environmentally-focused films on 4/22, including The Plow That Broke the Plains (1936), The River (1938), The Sea Around Us (1953), Koyaanisqatsi (1982), and An Inconvenient Truth (2006). #EarthDay2020
/50 Have wee little ones? Try cloth diapers. I have a set of 30 that is now on my second kid. By my estimate, I will have saved over 7,000 diapers from going to the landfill. These Rumparooz are my favorite but I like Alvababy for a more affordable style.
/50 Students watched Chasing Coral and I got mixed responses. “I have never been more impacted by a documentary than by Chasing Coral. It brought me to tears multiple times…” and “...watching the film made me feel helpless in assisting the survival of coral…”. #EarthDay2020

/50 Do you ever find baby trees growing in the oddest places in your yard? Replant them! Here is a pine tree that was growing in my hostas that I replanted two years ago when it was 1" tall. Now look at it! #EarthDay2020
/50 Throwback to cleaning up plastic on a beach in Bonaire, May 2019. Students were extremely frustrated how the plastic disintegrated in their hands. It’s estimated that the equivalent of 1 garbage truck full of plastic is dumped into the ocean every minute! #EarthDay2020
