When people suggest understanding and dialogue as a cure to incivility, citing Jesus' life of compassion and love of enemies as the model -- is there are place where Jesus enters into compassionate dialogue to understand his enemies? Genuinely curious.

(P.S. If you want to do this and it's been a proven way to end violence and hatred across lines of deeply held ideological division - that's amazing. I'm curious about people who tie this specifically to the life/actions of Jesus with his enemies)
