I find it surprising that people say "now we can see that we never needed to do seminars/conferences/classes in person", to me the lesson has been rather how much of the interaction is flattened or lost via skype/zoom/email.
The @basecamp guys are right: you can't just take everything you would have done in person and do it on skype. You have to fundamentally change how you are working if you want to be effective remotely. Careful, detailed and in-depth written memos seem to be the most effective.
Very much a do as I say not as I do thing at this stage -- though I have @basecamp for my closest and most complex partnership and it is amazing, far better than trying to use email/slack/trello for project management.
