Thread:

After seeing some worrying trends in our clinics recently, my GP colleagues and I have come together to share the following message...⁣

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen a number of patients presenting with emergencies needing urgent hospital admission.

(1/6)
What’s made things worse is that patients have delayed coming in to see us because they’re worried about getting coronavirus or don’t want to overburden the health system.⁣

(2/6)
It’s worrying because there’s been a 50% drop in heart attack’s reported and increasingly children are being admitted with serious complications because of delays attending.

I know it seems covid has taken over, but we need you to know the following vital information:

(3/6)
GP’s and specialty doctors are still on hand to deal with your problems - covid or non-covid!

We are reaching out to patients in new ways, including telephone & video consultations and we’ve created safe clinics away from covid areas, to see patients face-to-face

(4/6)
Hospitals have a clear process to separate covid patients from others. If there’s been an accident or emergency, get to hospital or call 999⁣.

Non-Covid emergencies are still happening, and it’s vital you get the help you need

(5/6)
On behalf of my colleagues throughout healthcare I want to reassure and remind you that we’re here and we care.
