Lately I& #39;ve been assessing everything I buy, what can be regrown from the scraps, or seeds that can be harvested to be grown into more plants. It saves money, reduces waste, raises self sufficiency, & overall its pretty enjoyable.

So here are some foods that magically regrows.
Don& #39;t throw away those lettuce hearts. They can beat once again.
Anyone tried this one yet? Regrowing mushrooms from the stalks sounds like a great way to boost your vitamin D intake naturally. As like human skin, mushrooms are able to create vitamin D when exposed to sunshine.
I just planted some sprouting garlic, has little use left in the kitchen yet 6 sprouting cloves will produce me 6 more bulbs. Once the sprouts reach 10 inches cut them down a bit to focus more energy into growing the new garlic bulb.
Peppers are pretty easy to grow. Save the seeds from a pepper you& #39;ve used in cooking, pot them up and watch them grow in a sunny spot. Same applies for sweet and bell peppers.
I& #39;m trying this one out atm using bok choy. Would need a bigger bowl for an entire cabbage.
Always good to have fresh herbs on the go. At the moment I have basil growing from seed, however this seems like a great way to start off an older rooting plant.
A few more ideas here. Note of the day: Reuse your food scraps!
