1. Every time I speak about Govt control of Hindu Temples, I am told "but our Dharmagurus must speak up more, must take on the Government more, must go to Courts more, must reach out to ppl more". Really? Agar woh sab kuch karenge, to tum kya karoge? Twiddle ur thumbs? #Palghar
2. U think u are alone as a Hindu? Put yourself in d shoes of our Dharmagurus. They r utterly alone in practicing Dharma day in & day out, dealing wid Govt encroachment day in & day out, dealing with Hindu factionalism day in day and day out which, by the way, facilitates Govt entry.
3. Every third rated pedophile or rapist from other groups is shielded by his followers & is actively provided cover both against the law and criticism. In stark contrast, our Dharmagurus, who represent 2500 yr old institutions, are arrested on Hindu holi days in full public glare.
4. How on earth do you expect our traditional Dharmagurus to speak up when they *know* that Hindus will rush to them for blessings and seek solutions for their problems, but will *never* stand up for the Guru or d faith? How can anyone else be blamed for the selfishness of Hindus?
5. In #Palghar, our Dharmagurus could not even trust d police 2 protect them from being lynched in public.Even convicted terrorists like Yakub Memon were more confident of being protected by d police than our Dharmagurus are.Shame on us as a community for not protecting our Gurus!
6. For d sake of an argument, let's assume that there were unverified allegations against d #Palghar Sadhus,I am forced 2 ask this question-d allegations remaining d same, wud any religious figure of other faiths hv been left to d wolves by d Maha Police d way they did in #Palghar?
7. Could the Maha Police have taken the decision to publicly handover the #Palghar Sadhus to the scumbag mob unless they had clearance from higher ups, or they were sure they cud get away wid it coz after all it is the Hindu, the ever dispensable, the ever fungible wretched Hindu?
8. I pity d craven,dim-witted, numb-skulled, yellow-bellied jackass of an idiot who uses the #Palghar tragedy to highlight the selective outrage of the Left and their complete silence when Hindus are killed/lynched/murdered/assassinated for being Hindus. That is a given! Move on!
9. If you really want to ask questions, ask hard questions of yourself as an individual, as a community, your priorities, the priorities of your so-called elected "leaders" and "organisations" who/which don't know what it is to organise in the interest of the community.
10.Unless & until common Hindus raise their voice against d injustice they face at every step, from being maligned by d media to being lynched,& put pressure on d powers that b to act,to take them seriously,to not b taken for granted, to b heard, there is absolutely no hope for us.
11. If your idea of contributing to Dharma is to throw dispensable petty cash as "Chanda" for a few "safe causes" here & there, you have no idea, not the first clue whatsoever as to what you are up against as a community. It is time to accept a few hard and harsh home truths.
12. The reality of India is that it is a far cry from Bharat & don't let vacuous personal symbolism fool u into believing otherwise.Unless and until u see concrete & lasting steps being taken to set d systemic imbalance right,u remain where you were under d Cong-Left ecosystem.
13. 1 half-hearted step forward & 2 full speed reverse sprints don't make for a +ve change in d right direction. The only solution is 2 strengthen d community's institutions in every way so that de may exert relentless pressure 2 get d job done. This calls for a bottom-up approach.
14. Dharmic religious institutions hold d key to Dharmic survival. They alone have what it takes to protect u because they exist for Dharma & u. That's their raison d'etre. Realise the direct nexus between the survival of Dharmic institutions and ur existence as a Dharmic.
15. Free & autonomous Hindu religious institutions r your fundamental right, & u need them for ur survival. So contribute towards freeing Hindu religious institutions from any & all forms of external control,in particular Government control, regardless of which party is in power.
16.True,there is a lot of scope for improving the transparency of Hindu religious institutions. But that's equally true of d religious institutions of other faiths. So y shud only our institutions b under d yoke of a State wid its Janusian & fork-tongued position on secularism?
17. Autonomous Hindu religious institutions and transparency are not mutually exclusive, nor would autonomy translate to the hegemony of any particular group. The law already provides enuf safeguards against that. Don't let the State control ur institutions under false pretexts.
18. The continued presence of the State in Hindu religious institutions, directly and indirectly, apart from its manifest unconstitutionality, poses the most stubborn barrier to protection of Dharmic existence, identity and interests. So #FreeTemples! Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah!
