THREAD: Private school pupils are more than twice as likely to attend online classes every day than their state school counterparts.
This is in part due to resources – when schools closed 60% of teachers in private schools had access to an online learning platform, compared with just 23% of teachers in the most deprived state schools.
Many pupils across the country do not have adequate access to suitable technology or stable internet access in order to learn online.
50% of teachers in private schools report they’re receiving more than three quarters of work back, compared to 27% in the most advantaged state schools, and just 8% in the least advantaged state schools.

And the standard of work is often very different to usual.
To help address these disparities, we have several recommendations that we feel would help limit the impact on the attainment gap.
