RYAN: With the Howling Commandos, Captain America invaded HYDRA bases across Europe, succeeding everytime. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, one mission in the Brenner Pass in the bordering Alps between Italy and Austria led to Bucky Barnes's fall in February 1945.
RYAN: On December 16, 1991, Howard and Maria Stark were transporting the super-soldier serum in their car trunk when they got into a car crash accident. It became global news as they were owners of the well-known Stark Industries.
RYAN: However, with the discovery of HYDRA inside SHIELD in 2016, information was leaked on the internet by Natasha Romanoff. Helmut Zemo acquires it & reveals that Howard and Maria were in fact assassinated by none other than Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier.

RYAN: Besides that, it was also revealed to the public that the Winter Soldier has been responsible for a lot of assassinations during his days with HYDRA, credited with over 100 assassinations of government officials, including JFK.
RYAN: The same year, the UN decided to implement the Sokovia Accords which divided the Avengers into two with varying views upon it. The meeting in Vienna, Austria was bombed, with many injuries and deaths, including Wakanda's King T'chaka.
RYAN: Bucky Barnes ended up accused for the Vienna bombing. Captain America found him in Bucharest, Romania, which was their first time seeing each other after 2 years. He apparently told him about the bombing while Bucky denied, saying he doesn't do things like that anymore.
RYAN: Ultimately, with the disagreement on the Accords and the refusal to surrender Bucky, the Avengers met in Germany and fought each other, an event which many had dubbed as the battle that ended the Avengers.

Ryan: After the fight, Bucky Barnes was transported to Wakanda by King T'challa himself after being proven innocent of the bombing. He was treated by Princess Shuri and had undergone cryostasis while his brain was being studied on.
RYAN: The people have yet to decide whether he'll be punished for his crimes as the Winter Soldier given the fact that he was tortured & brainwashed horribly by HYDRA. Others deem Bucky Barnes as a good man. With Bucky Barnes under cryostasis, his jurisdiction and case remains...
