If you look white, you’re white. The concept of race is based on appearance so yeah, you’re white and you need to face that. Yes you can still be ethnically (culturally) part of a non-white culture, but you are still white; check your privilege and use it for good.
Maybe sometimes you’re seen as white, but sometimes you’re not. Yet the mere fact that you can be seen as white at all is a privilege in itself.
You can still be white and indigenous. You can still be white and have parents or siblings who are visibly non-white. It doesn’t cancel out all your hardships; intersectionality will always be a thing.
Don’t come into my mentions telling me about how your struggles as a white-passing person overshadow mine as a very visible Asian person. I respect and encourage you to stay connected with your non-white culture, but don’t act like you know what it’s like to be an actual POC.
I’m just so tired of white people who are mixed taking up so much space with their think pieces about how they “don’t belong anywhere,” when they benefit from white privilege. Discuss that among your mixed/white peers. Personally I’m tired of it.
I know I said I was done with this but I just wanted to clarify:

When I say "white" I mean Eurocentric features, not pale, not light-skinned.
You can be white AND [insert ethnicity here]. I thought that was clear but apparently not. I'm not trying to erase anyone's ETHNIC ID.
Being white doesn't negate all your hardships, your culture, your history. It is only one factor.
I am Indigenous and Asian (Hmong).
I apologize for speaking over other Indigenous folks. I am definitely open to critiques & having people expand on these nuances more.
This thread was about how you are perceived on the surface and how you move thru the world socially, and the privileges that come from that. It was not meant to dictate your ETHNIC/CULTURAL ties. It is only one layer of privilege & it doesn't determine your entire identity.
