The classism in academia makes me feel so alienated. It's hard to relate to people who have "summer homes" when your family has never had a stable 1st home. It's hard to understand & follow rules about how I should perform upper-middle-classness. Idk if I'll ever get it right.

I know I’m privileged in other ways. Classism is much more harmful for 1st gen & working class BIPOC. & many people who want to enter academia never have the chance or get pushed out. There is a lot wrong with academia beyond classism. This has just been on my mind lately.
