Much like the protesters, I have an opinion about when it would be safe for businesses to reopen. Unlike them, I am fully aware that I am a sales and marketing dipshit with a degree in Jazz Studies so my opinion means nothing and is probably wrong.
I capitalized Jazz Studies to make it seem important.
Now, if you are wondering if it is currently safe to solo over Rhythm Changes in B-flat at 180 BPM, my opinion would carry some weight.
For those of you who don't have a degree in Jazz Studies, which I'm guessing may be many of you, Rhythm Changes is a set of chord changes that is used in many different songs. Jazz players love to play Rhythm Changes at lightning fast tempos.
The reason is that, even though there are constant chord changes that happen very quickly, the changes mostly follow the circle of fifths, so you don't really have to think all that hard when you are soloing.
This thread is a month old but thanks (Zuckerberg) to cookies and tracking I came across this example of the great guitar John Pizzarelli playing rhythm changes. It's a seven string guitar, which I can't even fathom.
