Here is a thread about the most horrific serial killer (in my opinion) named Israel Keys. Are y'all ready to be absolutely terrified to do anything, including sleep for the rest of your life? If not, please do not read this thread. :-)
SO Israel Keys is an average guy, with an average blow joe job, as an "average" marriage, is a father to a beautiful little girl and he settled in Alaska after he discharged from the Army - where he actually left with awards and decorations for his time in service.
He violently murdered 4 people, so why is he the most horrific serial killer of all time? There are a plethora of reasons, but the one I'm concerned about right now is the fact that he admitted to investigators that "there's probably way more" - PROBABLY?
So his big "thing" on why he refused to tell if there were any more murders is because he didn't want his daughter to know that he was a disgusting piece of garbage. He agreed to tell investigators everyone he killed but ONLY if the media didn't get ahold of the information 1/2
2/2 And that it wouldn't be used against him in trial, so his daughter would never find out. I'll also add now, that after he had his daughter he vowed to "never hurt children", but it leaves it kind of open ended if he had hurt kids prior to having a child.
Now of course, he did kill himself in jail after finding out that the media had already gotten information about the murders he had told already. OK SO, I know you guys are probably wondering still "why is he the worst Somer?", well let's go ahead and get into it.
SO, he would come down to the lower 48, and he would choose a state, choose a city, stake it out and when he found the perfect place to commit murder, he would find an empty field, or a wooded area and he would bury a murder kit, money, clothes. Things of that nature.
Now what is absolutely terrifying about this, is that sometimes he would wait several YEARS before committing the murder. He wouldn't stalk his victims, or follow them around in his car and grab them at a gas station unsuspectingly. He would pick someone at random, 1/2
2/2 when conditions were right. He would find the place he wanted to snatch someone, stake it out for several years to be sure that he could make it look like said person just vanished, and he would take them to another location that he also staked out for years and rape & kill.
If he was going to take them from a house, he would look for homes that had no dogs, no security systems, no
"large" families, and he'd be sure that the outside lights were off so if any neighbors happened to look out at 2am he wouldn't be noticed.
He murdered the couple Bill & Lorraine Currier of Vermont by breaking a window in their garage and convincing them he was only robbing them. The window looked like it may have broken at a different time because he cleaned up his mess. He made it seem as if they just 1/3
2/3 Decided to leave randomly in the middle of the night. Two years prior to their murder, he hid a murder kit near their home which he used to perform the murders on the two. Their bodies have never been found as the place he murdered them at was tore down and removed.
3/3 The people who tore the old farmhouse down said that they smelled "something dead" so strongly that everyone who was there vividly remembered it. Investigators used Israels confession and this interview with the workers to confirm the deaths of Bill & Lorraine.
Two of his murders he would only admit that they were women, and that one was in New York and one was in New Jersey near Tupper lake.
His last murder was in his home state of Alaska, where he abducted a coffee shop worker & took her to his home. He stole her credit card & her phone and made a ransom for her. He actually killed her before he made the ransom, & sent photos of her seemingly alive to keep it going.
He left 18 year old Samantha Koenig in his shed in Alaska, went to New Orleans to go on a cruise, came back, sewed her eyes open and sent photos to her family of her stating that she was alive. After taking the photos he dismembered her and put her in a lake. Later he said he 1/2
Actually used "ice fishing" as an excuse with his wife to be able to dump her body. Investigators asked him "well did you go fishing" and he replied yes he went fishing and actually caught some fish.
He was caught because he then went to the lower 48 and began to use her debit card to get a rental vehicle, buy gas among other things. Why would a serial killer who had no MO suddenly start making rookie mistakes like this? For attention. He wanted to be known and recognized.
What terrifies me the most is he said that most of the people he killed are only "missing persons" because he was so good at murder that nothing ever looked like a crime scene. No "mo" was his mo. And what is scary about that, is how many other serial killers like him are there?
Lastly, he actually confessed to 7 murders I'm reading, but was only willing to tell the areas of 4, and talk about three. I pray all the families of the affected find their closure and peace, and that the people who are still missing persons have their stories told.
