*CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR @DoSAAonline and @AAPAonline MENTORS AND STUDENT FELLOWS*
It’s that wonderful time again! The Division on South Asian Americans
(DoSAA) is excited to announce our 4th summer fellowship project for the
DoSAA community.
The Fellowship project is a unique opportunity where a student or trainee member of DoSAA is matched with a professional DoSAA member based on professional interest whereby the produce a collaborative work that enhances growth, learning, relationship-building, and community.
In the past years, we had a wonderful program in which we matched
DoSAA student members with professionals in our community. Please *APPLY * and *ENCOURAGE *your students, colleagues, peers, mentors to apply!
*Start Date: June 1, 2020*

*End Date: August 31, 2020*
*Deadline to submit an application: May 1, 2020*
This project will culminate in a final presentation via webinar at the
beginning of September 2020.
This year the Fellowship is geared towards graduate student members
involved in mental health in any capacity (Ph.D., Psy.D., M.S., M.Ed., MFT,
LSW, etc.)
And those who have a passion and interest for South Asian/South Asian
American mental health, including research among South Asian populations, leadership, as well as community building.
Fellows will be paired with a mentor from the DoSAA community and will complete a small project related
to South Asian American mental health. These projects may vary in focus but will be used to further add to mental health resources for our
South Asian American communities.
*Fellows Should Be:*

·Graduate student

·Create and communicate 1-2 goals for mentorship focus.

·Collaborate with mentor to talk routinely on the phone/video for 2 - 4
hours/month for a total of at least 6 hours between June and August.
·Complete a small summer project (e.g., compiling resources for LGBTQ South
Asians on the website).

·Collaborate with other fellows to share and present their projects in a
webinar in September.
*Mentors Should Be:*

·Professionals who are not currently students and have completed graduate training (Ph.D., Psy.D., M.S., M.Ed., MFT, LSW, etc.)
·Collaborate with student fellow to talk routinely on phone/video (whatever you both prefer) for 2 to 4 hours per month for a total of at least 6 hours between June and August.

·The Executive Committee will provide regular check ins/reminders to help
project progress.
·Structure your mentorship around student 1-2 goals and general topics you think could be helpful for them. (We will help provide some general topics if you are unsure what to focus on).

·Be able to help provide mentorship and have the ability to guide small
summer project.
DoSAA membership is required. We will prioritize student applications of
those experiencing challenges to seeking mentorship.
