Lots of depressing (but expected IMHO) stats coming out about low levels of women submitting articles to poli sci journals.
I absolutely know that individual fixes aren& #39;t going to do it. We need big structural change. I& #39;m fighting for it.
Until then, here are my "Band-Aids":

Until then, here are my "Band-Aids":
I& #39;m prioritizing my work co-authored with women, junior faculty, and esp. women w..kids. I have been clear that I do not expect them to "pick up the pace" as I work on these projects.
I& #39;m reviewing everything that I& #39;m asked to review and trying to do it quickly. I& #39;ve reached out to editors of journals w high % women authors to offer that I& #39;ll review more and quickly
I& #39;ve put together a couple of complete lessons from my work (a recorded slide deck, readings, assignments, discussion questions) that anyone can use whenever
I& #39;ll hop online for a writing retreat w anyone who wants a little accountability for writing. Seriously - just DM me and we can find a time.
I& #39;m trying to check in on friends, co-authors, and colleagues regularly. Want to vent? I& #39;m your gal. Let& #39;s chat.
I& #39;m behind on my fan letters! So today& #39;s goal is to email all the people whose great work I& #39;ve read recently and tell them how much I like it. Maybe that helps?
I& #39;m advocating for shifts in standards for review. Chastising admin who give junior women more service right now. Offering myself as a Zoombody on committees in people& #39;s stead. Continuing to write #MHAWS in case in helps anyone.
What am I missing? What should I be doing as a tenured person who deeply cares about issues of equality in academia?
