...are authors who autograph books written by *other* authors actually a thing?

Because I just saw this happen to my book, and the optics of a white author autographing a POC author’s book and then using that as promotion... doesn’t look good to me?
I was never told about this. The implication that a white author’s autograph on my book is more valuable than my own autograph in a book that *I* wrote?

Do people know how expensive it is for me personally to sign my own books? It costs me $600 to be in the US to sign it. Why.
The kicker was I tried my best to help this author when she first started out. 😓 This feels just like a slap in the face now.
I’m gonna say this before I turn in for the night.

I will NOT sign any of my books already signed by Mackenzi Lee. I’ve gotten far too much shit from people who think my living in a “third world shithole” somehow devalues my writing. I will not take more of this white nonsense.
If you are an author, she might also be signing your books if they are being ordered via the bookstore she works at. I would suggest refusing to do the same, at the very least.

If you are a friend of hers: can you recommend she send her own frigging signed book swag instead?
someone just pointed me to a list where she has done this to other authors, and I would really appreciate it if you supported them, especially all the POC/marginalized authors seen here https://twitter.com/wordwoonders/status/1251931590411902985?s=21 https://twitter.com/wordwoonders/status/1251931590411902985
