Ok real quick I& #39;m gonna talk about the very human need for Normalcy.
Trump wanting to reopen America is about money, but the people going along with him are, down of them, seeking Normalcy.

I& #39;m #actuallyautistic so my need for Normalcy is extreme. Many autistics will form rigid routines, eat restricted diets, wear the same few outfits or even just one outfit on repeat.
NTs need Normalcy too. Y& #39;all just have more complicated routines.
COVID has fucked with that.

My personal routine had been:
Get up
Let dogs out
Feed/water dogs
Gym w Roommate
Dress for work
Work
Eat w Roommate
Sleep
But the gym isn& #39;t an option. I lost ONE item. And it was hard but I adjusted, after WEEKS.
Most have way more than one item lost from routine.

I& #39;m also kinda a homebody, and struggle with social anxiety. Most people crave human connection as a physiological need.
It& #39;s called oxytocin. And abrupt oxytocin withdrawals can actually kill you.
There are physical symptoms.

There are physical symptoms.
Heart palpitations, headaches, increased or sudden anxiety, body aches, fatigue, skin irritation, worsened menstrual cramping, missed periods, increased acne, brittle hair
These are some common physical symptoms of oxytocin withdrawal.

Not to mention the emotional effects.
Losing human connect AND losing routine are each traumatic, and especially in the context of a global pandemic.
It creates a PTSD atmosphere for folks.

The constant fear that comes with quarantining and so on, combined with the upset of lost routine and the reduction of support systems, and everyone going through oxytocin withdrawal is DEEPLY traumatizing.
And the idea that things can go back is like a drug.
