I do get that it's annoying to be asked to subscribe, when you just want to read one article. However, a) ultimately it's up to newspapers to decide how their full content is accessed, b) snippets circulate on social media, and c)...

there is no copyright in news - so if a paywalled publication has a newsworthy line, another publication (e.g. one you do subscribe to) can pick it up, and one usually does almost immediately. Some of the S. Times allegations were cited up by Sky/ Marr.

if you can't subscribe digitally, and can't get a print copy, it's still not right to rip down the paywalls on which newspapers now depend.
