People keep telling me how if they can't use intellectually ableist slurs, they need a word that means "unintelligent".

Like...

*squints*

Have you missed the point?
CN: ableist slurs

So all of this is wrong.
This is my reply.
They came back and tried to shift the goalpost without even acknowledging my points. It wasn't even fun.
So I used my god power.
Folks, the point of not using intellectually ableist slurs is because treating people as lesser for being "unintelligent" is oppressive.

Like... this is the point. The reason.
I don't feel like a lot of folks are ready for the conversation about "intelligence" as we understand it mainly being a whole oppressive trap in and of itself but.
I dunno some of you make me tired.
Ah yes. I love how I say "go away" and this person decides it's a punishment for me for them to... do that.
I don't like playing the followers card so I never do but I often think it when accounts with less than 10% of my numbers tell me no one will listen to me.

Account size really doesn't have anything to do with tweet quality but as far as being listened to...
I also liked when they were like "I'm not trying to make you look bad" and I was like...

The only one around here who makes me look bad is me. You don't have that kind of power.
Me: I don't want to debate this.

Them: You seem unwilling to continue this conversation.
this was an awesomely hilarious and self-aware rejoinder and no one is giving it the love it deserves except me.

People, stop being reluctant to listen to me. https://twitter.com/EbThen/status/1251775550038867968
I dunno it's really cute that people think they can make me look bad by being wrong at me though.

Also here's something interesting that ties into my writing and thoughts about empathy.

I had this difficult person turn up in my mentions to argue with me and it gave me an opportunity to articulate something else important.
This is my reply. https://twitter.com/EbThen/status/1251940807642398722
This one is from another person (QRT this time) and it's an amazing mindfrak. I sort of love it as much as I hate it.

The answer is: no. Obviously not. Feel free to read beyond the top tweet in a single thread.
CN: ableist slur

Same person as the bad empathy argument argues it's important to use words that are going to upset people to let them know they're being wrong.

I've seen that argument a few times. People really think it's fine to use oppression as a tool to fight oppression.
I didn't explicitly say this in this thread but I'm saying it right now. I do not want to debate this here or elsewhere. if you try to debate me on this, I will hide your replies.

I will not engage with anyone else who tries to debate me on this going forward.
I have provided TONS of thought and resources on the topic of ableist slurs over the past five years.

Feel free to go read through my Twitter history on this topic. I don't have the energy to do 101 education on this indefinitely.
If you want to read my thoughts on ableist slurs from over the last five years, I've curated a lot of them (not all of them) here:

Oh hey. If you learned something here and have the resources, I am kept poor on purpose and I can use support.

I need to buy a dryer and a whole new bed, too.
