I’ve only seen a handful of #JamesBond movies so my wife and I are watching them in order.

DR. NO was really good but FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE was a huge leap in quality and spectacle.
GOLDFINGER was great. Getting sillier. Goldfinger and Oddjob were the best villains yet.
THUNDERBALL gave us our most likable Sean Connery Bond performance yet, and that’s saying a lot. Some stuff went on a little too long, particularly the underwater finale, but the movie is really enjoyable.
YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE has some of the goofiest, most fun 007 stuff yet. Volcano lairs, piranha deaths, space hi jacking, modern ninjas. Connery seems to be a little bored, and I could do without him posing as a Japanese fisherman. Third best BOND so far. Next up: Lazenby!
ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE is good. Diana Rigg is the best, and Telly Savalas is a great villain. It suffers from having no stakes/ticking clock in the first half and too many winter sports in the second half. Lazenby was very good, wish he had another go. OH that ending.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER gave us Connery again, in his loosest, most fun Bond performance yet. Good one liners and set pieces, but the movie could stand to lose a half hour. Vegas looked great in the early 70s. Goofiest Bond movie yet. Good-bye forever, again, Sean, see you soon!
So far, my rankings. Please don't ask me to tell you what happened in any of them, they are very similar.

Goldfinger
Thunderball

LIVE AND LET DIE ushers in the Roger Moore era. Bond in a blaxploitation movie is something I’m not sure we needed. But points for not following the beats that every previous Bond movie hit, for Moore’s incredible charm, and the best acting by a Bond villain yet by Yaphet Kotto.
Points added for Jane Seymour as Solitaire, the fact that we got to see Bond’s home, and for one of the best Bond songs yet. Points deducted for the lack of Q and the seemingly endless story detour with that wacky southern sheriff.
THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN has a bland first half, but once Bond meets up with Christopher Lee (who gives a performance that is easily the best thing about the movie) it starts to pop. But why did they bring that sheriff back? Why?
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME had the best song to date, the best henchman (freaking Jaws!), a creepy villain, the best villain lair, a great Bond girl, excellent locales, a car sub, Roger Moore in fine form, and no sheriff. Favorite Bond movie yet.
Went into MOONRAKER with low expectations. Really surprised: this one is super fun. Moore just gets more likable, Jaws is back (and gets a character arc!), the action is fantastic (finally, a hover-gondola), and the last act IS IN SPACE. Awesome.
I'm halfway through Moore's run, this guy is underappreciated.
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY had a fun opening, one of the best Bond songs ever (it might actually be my personal favorite), but everything else was so bland. Boring villain, barely any gadgets, horribly dated score. They didn’t give Moore anything to do.
Topol as the supposed villain turned ally is fantastic. He seemed to be having fun. More of him.
My rankings so far.

Lots of use of the words "spy" and "gold" and "love" in titles of Bond movies. I know what I have to do. Working on a new spec, DIE, GOLD LOVING SPY
Watching Bond movies one on top of another, they blend together and it’s hard to remember specifics. Not a problem with OCTOPUSSY. Evil circus, island of women, scenery chewing villains, great henchmen. Best title (but a bad theme song). One of the must fun BOND movies yet.
Moore is a massively underrated 007. He’s fun, cool, and can expertly deliver a bad joke after killing some jerk. And his stuntman got a lot of face time in this, good for him!

Up next, Connery returns! Kinda! 1st BOND movie I saw in a theater. I don’t remember any of it.
Roger Moore is the stepdad of 007 movies. Is he as cool as the first one? No. But he's nice, he's goofy, and he's really trying! Plus, he's in this for the log haul. Not like like that quick fling George.
NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN is technically Bootleg Bond. I missed original M, Q and Moneypenny. Max Von Sydow should have been the best Blofeld yet but he was wasted. Story was bland. Score is bad. That said, was wonderful to see Connery again, still cooler then anyone in the room.
Irvin Kershner was a great choice for director, the action scenes pop. Kim Basinger was awesome. Bonus points for Bond going to a casino, only to have him play a video game against the bad guy. Also the movie ends with Bond winking at the camera as it irises out of an 0 in 007.
Can't believe I had to say good-bye to Connery as Bond tonight, and next up is saying good-bye to Roger Moore! And then I get a Timothy Dalton AND THEN I HAVE TO SAY GOOD-BYE TO HIM next movie. Don't get attached to Bonds, Brian, they will break your heart.
