Was denied a refill for my birth control (which I’ve been on for 9 years STRAIGHT bc it’s medically necessary) bc I couldn’t make an in-person appointment with my gyno IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC??

So I decided, “hm. That’s shitty care,” and started researching other options

Found @nurxapp and liked what I saw so I did the wee questionnaire and signed up for a telehealth consult with a physician

After only a few SECONDS the physician I spoke with let me know that the bc I’ve been on for 9 YEARS is a danger to my health and is putting me at a high risk for A STROKE, and is related to the growing # of migraines & visual problems I’ve been having

So now I’ve been prescribed a new bc that is safer & better for my health... so that’s fab. But the point is- why the actual fuck have I been regularly paying to see an OBGYN who has knowingly been putting me at risk for YEARS? What even is women’s healthcare???

Also... just because I can’t sleep without saying it... y’all need to know that if you’re on birth control and are having migraines or vision problems, u need to talk to ur provider
