you can say someone is an asshole and that you don't like them without having to justify it. you can dislike someone for no reason. you don't have to invent or project bigotry that isn't there to rationalize it. I promise. there are many people I don't like who aren't bigots

there are so many reasons to like or dislike someone. you don't have to arbitrarily decide they're a shitty bigot to not like them. look at me! I mostly avoid bigot shitheads but there are also many people I don't like and find annoying that have fantastic politics lol

The reductive view of individuals as either pure crusaders or abusive monsters with no middle ground ignores people who are just kind of abrasive or maybe annoying. or like sort of nice people who are kind of ladder climby or too much. none of these people need to be cancelled

I also personally have struggled with really unpleasant or difficult interactions with people, especially irl, where I want to then avoid someone for my own comfort/safety without having to justify it or destroying their career because it's in the weird grey area

Not naming someone who hurt me personally for their own protection just makes it weirder but the explosive 0 or 100 approach to handling any conflict or problems makes it impossible to handle "no they aren't an abuser but I don't want to be in the same room as them anyway" lol
